The STIHL MSA 260 C-O Battery Chainsaw is built for professionals in landscaping, forestry and local government, delivering the power and efficiency needed for felling and pruning small to medium-sized trees. Combining high cutting performance with a lightweight, well-balanced design, the MSA 260 C-O helps maximise productivity during long working days. The interchangeable chain sprocket allows you to switch between 3/8" P and .325" chain pitch, providing flexibility to match different cutting applications.
To help maximise battery efficiency, the motor features a 5-second activation mode. If the chainsaw is activated but not used within this time, it automatically switches off to help conserve battery power.
The integrated oil sensor continuously monitors chain oil levels, helping reduce interruptions and optimise lubrication. For best performance, STIHL recommends using STIHL SynthPlus, BioPlus or ForestPlus chain lubricants, although other suitable vegetable or mineral-based chain oils can also be used.
The MSA 260 C-O is certified to IPX4 protection, making it splashproof for reliable operation in wet weather.
MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE INCREASE. Thanks to intelligent electronics, STIHL power tools and batteries communicate with each other. If the device and battery are equipped with the POWER BOOST function, the battery always provides the maximum possible power for the respective application. In order to ensure optimum battery life, the device temporarily adjusts the power if it is used too intensively.
When using other brands of battery tools, the performance can sometimes decrease during work as the battery discharges. This isn't the case with STIHL battery-powered tools. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your tool will work with consistently high power across the entire battery charge, until there is no energy left in the battery.
RELIABLE STARTING IN COLD TEMPERATURES. Batteries only work at full power in ideal temperatures. If it is too cold, it usually takes time for the battery to warm up. Thanks to the cold start function, the tool is ready to start immediately, even at low temperatures down to -20°C, and offers almost the same output as at ideal temperatures.
FOR SIMPLE AND SECURE RE-TENSIONING. Side-mounted chain tensioning allows for protected, easy and quick chain tensioning and replacement. The tensioning screw is inserted laterally through the sprocket cover.
FOR CONTROL AND MONITORING OF THE OIL SUPPLY. The LED display on the oil sensor informs you about the delivery of chain lubricant. If the LED is red, there is not enough chain oil reaching the chain. When the oil supply is sufficient, the LED is off.
OIL CONSUMPTION BASED ON NEED. The controlled-delivery oil pump reduces your chainsaw’s oil consumption by up to 50%. To use it, simply select the E position. For very long cutting attachments or very dry wood, an additional oil volume can be set by the user.
QUICK AND EASY TO USE. Thanks to the bayonet closure, you can open and close the tool-free fuel cap in just a few simple steps.
FOR COMFORTABLE HANDLING. The control lever with potentiometer function allows you to control the speed of your battery chainsaw on an infinitely variable basis, and in this way easily control and adjust its performance as needed.
